| MAINSQUEEZE / Music Blog | | | G Culture Intro: | IG Culture is one of the most notable producers responsible for the wealth of material that has emanated from West London under the tag broken beat. He started in music during the early ‘90s as one-half of the rap duo Dodge City. A while after that project dissolved, he started a short-lived label called One Drop Interouter, and then he became involved with the People and Main Squeeze imprints. Culture put together the New Sector Movements group, which -- like a number of broken beat-affiliated outfits -- is a collaborative Entity that combines the talents of several musicians. Culture’s productions are all about rhythm and hybridizations of several music styles (funk, soul, jazz-fusion, hip-hop, DnB.)
He appeared on the Roots Manuva album 'Brand New Second Hand' in 1999. In 2001, New Sector Movements released 'Download This' through Virgin Records. An EP 'No Tricks' preceded the release of Download This. In 2001, he released the 'Inspirations' album followed by a 2 CD set of the same name in 2003. He also produced the Les Nubians album 'One Step Forward' released in 2003. In 2004, a second album from the New Sector Movement 'Turn It Up' credited to NSM. | | 2007-12-13 09:27:03 | | BLOG ARCHIVE
